A 5G small cell antenna must work with the radio enclosure, ground structure and required coverage pattern. For compact indoor radios and local coverage equipment, choosing a small radiating element is only the first step. VLG supports evaluation of internal MIMO antenna arrangements where isolation, beam coverage and mechanical integration must be considered together.

| Reference design range | 3.3–4.2 GHz |
| Reference element size | 50 × 37 × 11.4 mm |
| Reference reflector | 255 mm diameter |
| Reference isolation target | ≥ 20 dB |
| Nominal impedance | 50 Ω |
The supplied design material describes a 50 × 37 × 11.4 mm element together with a 255 mm diameter reflector. This distinction matters when allocating space: an element dimension should not be advertised as the size of the complete tested antenna system.
The reference design targets isolation of at least 20 dB and operation across 3.3–4.2 GHz. Isolation is one selection factor; the radiation patterns, efficiency and placement of all paths also matter. Review the complete array or enclosure arrangement rather than approving an element from a single matching measurement.
A small cell serving an indoor area needs a radiation pattern suited to its location and users. Check mounting height, enclosure orientation and the effect of nearby conductors. Gain and beamwidth should be evaluated in the reference geometry used for the measurements.
Provide the radio band plan, number of feeds, available reflector or ground area and enclosure model. Agree the thermal and mechanical requirements, then review the frequency-resolved RF data for the selected design. This creates an integration decision tied to the actual small cell.
A different ground or reflector arrangement requires evaluation. The published reference result should not be assumed to transfer unchanged.
Supply the radio bands, RF feed count, enclosure geometry, reference ground structure and target radiation coverage.
