14 years ago, Lv Xiaoping, chairman of vlg , led his team to settle in Taohuayuan Science and Technology Innovation Ecological Park in Bao’an District. In this entrepreneurial “Peach Blossom Land”, the company’s office space expanded from 1,000 square meters to 3,000 square meters, and the number of employees grew from 100 to more than 400. “I believe that behind the success of every company founder, there is a sad story.” Lv Xiaoping, chairman of Shenzhen Weiligu Wireless Technology Co., Ltd. Starting from scratch, raising money from multiple sources to start a business, “visiting the thatched cottage three times” to find talents
Lv Xiaoping is from Jiangxi Province. He studied aircraft manufacturing in college and was assigned to work in a state-owned enterprise in Jiangxi after graduation in 1987. At that time, the tide of reform and opening up was surging, and the seeds of daring to try and take root quietly in Lv Xiaoping’s heart. He decisively resigned from his stable job in his hometown and went to Huizhou, Guangdong, Shanghai and other places to engage in sales, procurement, management and other work. He experienced multiple positions and accumulated valuable work experience.
In 2005, Lv Xiaoping decided to start his own business. After three months of preparation, Lv Xiaoping founded vlg in Bao’an, Shenzhen, a place he had always been optimistic about.

“The communications industry was experiencing rapid development at the time, and the development of communications is inseparable from antennas. I saw this opportunity and focused on mobile phone antennas.” Lu Xiaoping said that at the beginning, due to lack of funds, he asked several classmates for help and raised 3 million yuan in start-up capital, and spent 2 million yuan to introduce the most advanced antenna testing equipment at the time.
In early 2006, mobile phone antenna products were developed. However, as a new recruit in the market, who would be willing to cooperate with them? He visited many times and, after many efforts, impressed a mobile phone production company in Bao’an, thus opening up the development situation. By the end of the year, the company’s turnover had exceeded 10 million yuan.
Just when Weiligu was developing steadily, it encountered the betrayal of the technical team, resulting in the loss of customers and orders. This was undoubtedly a heavy blow to Weiligu. But Lv Xiaoping did not back down. From then on, he made talent training a top priority.
In order to attract talents, he went to the antenna manufacturer of the mobile phone brand Nokia in Suzhou three times, hoping to introduce first-class talents from the mobile phone antenna factory of the first-class brand. After repeated trips and sincere invitations, he finally moved a mobile phone antenna engineer to join Weiligu. Then, Lv Xiaoping recruited a group of college students and increased the training efforts to gradually expand the R&D talent team. Subsequently, Weiligu made great strides in the field of mobile phone antennas and became more and more famous, providing antenna products for thousands of mobile phone companies in Huaqiangbei.

The iteration of mobile phone products is like the sifting of sand by the waves, which is cruel and realistic. In 2010, the business declined and the company’s development entered a bottleneck period. Lv Xiaoping actively sought new breakthroughs. He realized that only by continuous innovation can the company remain invincible in the fierce market competition. He decided to find a park with a strong atmosphere of innovation and take the path of brand development.
After much consideration, Lv Xiaoping decided to move his company into Xixiang Taohuayuan Science and Technology Innovation Ecological Park and rent a 1,000-square-meter site. “This is a place where talents gather, and the scenery is beautiful, which is very suitable for scientific researchers to work.” He introduced that the district science and technology bureau and other departments as well as Xixiang Street have provided excellent conditions for the development of the company, not only providing support in terms of rent and business operations, but also explaining relevant policies, helping the company apply for national high-tech enterprises, and providing innovation and development subsidies for the company, which makes the company full of confidence.

“If the five years from 2005 to 2010 were Weiligu’s survival period, then 2010 to 2015 was Weiligu’s leapfrogging period.” Lv Xiaoping said that after coming to Xixiang, the company focused on cultivating its internal strength and positioned itself as a service provider for branded customers. However, branded customers have extremely high requirements for products, which also prompted Weiligu to continuously improve its own technical level and service quality. They invested a lot of manpower and material resources to promote the upgrading of technology research and development equipment and services. “By 2015, Weiligu has successively cooperated with major brands such as BYD, BBK, and ZTE, and its products and services include world-renowned companies such as China’s HUAWEI, Europe’s Vodafone, Japan’s Softbank, and the United States’ AT&T.
In the same year, Weiligu was successfully listed on the New Third Board, demonstrating its strong strength. After listing, Weiligu was not satisfied with the status quo, but actively adjusted its industrial structure, and fully involved in the fields of Internet of Things, satellite antennas, and vehicle antennas. “At that time, the competition in mobile phones had entered a white-hot stage, and we realized that we could not rely solely on mobile phone antennas, so we once again made a major adjustment in our development direction.” Lv Xiaoping said.
Although we have been prepared for the difficulty of transformation, the difficulty and cycle of antenna R&D and production in the automotive and satellite antenna fields are still far beyond our expectations. Lv Xiaoping said: “Although they are both antennas, mobile phone antennas and car antennas are completely different concepts. The complexity of automotive and satellite antenna products is N times that of mobile phone antennas.”
For this transformation, Lv Xiaoping further increased the introduction of talents and investment in equipment. The company’s R&D talents accounted for one-third of the company’s employees. However, due to the delay in the launch of new products, the company’s performance fluctuated greatly. Should they retreat or face the difficulties? Since they have chosen this difficult road, they must grit their teeth and go on! They constantly deny themselves, develop themselves, and surpass themselves, laying a good foundation for industrial transformation and upgrading.
In 2020, Welligo’s antenna technology was widely used in satellite networks (NTN) and ground networks. Its product applications achieved seamless connection between ground and air networks and began to provide support for world-class brands.
It has been proved that it was this comprehensive transformation that brought new market share and enabled Welligo to achieve comprehensive development. Today, Toyota and BYD in the automotive field, Mindray in the medical field, Hikvision in the security field, Sungrow in the energy storage field, Meituan and ZTE and other top companies and brands have become Welligo’s customers.
“The most difficult time has passed. We are now flourishing in all aspects and moving more steadily than before. We hope to achieve a 30% growth in the future.” Lv Xiaoping led the company to demonstrate a wonderful example of an enterprise accumulating strength and then climbing upward.
