VLG uses Anritsu test solutions and Bluetest darkroom test solutions to verify 5G products

Anritsu wireless test platform MT8000A and Bluetest RTS65 darkroom are now deployed in its test laboratory for 5G product-related testing and verification to ensure the performance of 5G-related products.

Our company (VLG) has selected Anritsu’s wireless test platform MT8000A to be deployed in its test laboratory for 5G product-related testing and verification to ensure the performance of 5G-related products.

 

Anritsu’s 5G terminal test solution can be fully verified, meeting the test of 5G non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) modes, and covering the FR1 (Sub-6 GHz) and FR2 (mmWave) frequency bands used by 5G. Combined with the wireless anechoic chamber, it can achieve mmWave signal quality and communication testing in an OTA environment. The cooperation between Anritsu and VLG on 5G technology testing will help to quickly launch and commercialize 5G devices and services. “Anritsu continues to be at the forefront of testing technology with one of the broadest 5G test product portfolios. Product Description:

(1) With 5G base station simulation capabilities, a single MT8000A test platform supports both Sub-6 GHz and mmWave bands for 5G. When combined with an OTA chamber, mmWave band RF measurements and beamforming tests can be performed using call connections defined by 3GPP.

(2) A leading design with modular architecture that is flexible and scalable. This design not only supports technologies such as high-order MIMO (4×4 MIMO) and carrier aggregation (8CA) for high-speed broadband communications, but also provides flexible and forward-looking support for new 5G test requirements including URLLC and mMTC.

(3) The MT8000A is an all-in-one test platform for RF, protocol, beam testing, and beam waveform evaluation. In addition to supporting base station functions for simulating the SA and NSA modes required for the development of 5G chipsets and terminals, it also supports the latest technologies such as 2CC+4×4 MIMO for increasing data transmission speeds in the Sub-6 GHz band and 8CC+2×2 MIMO for achieving broadband mmWave. In addition, it also supports key frequency bands used in the first batch of 5G commercial deployments, such as 600MHz, 2.5GHz, 3.5GHz, 4.5GHz Sub-6GHz band (FR1) frequencies and 28GHz, 39GHz millimeter wave band (FR2) frequencies. Based on an easy-to-use GUI and software for flexible setting of various test parameters, as well as the UCTS automation control tool developed by Anritsu China, it helps to flexibly and quickly configure the test environment, bringing efficient cost-effectiveness.

About RTS65 OTA Darkroom Products

 

RTS65 Darkroom Overview:

It is Bluetest’s star product for OTA testing in the current and future wireless and mobile communications markets. It is adopted by many customers and supports OTA testing of wireless communication products from 2G, 3G, 4G, WIFI, Bluetooth to 5G and millimeter wave.

 

RTS65 Darkroom Technology Principle:

The RTS65 OTA reverberation chamber consists of a metal cavity with highly reflective walls and one or more devices for uniform stirring in the cavity. The electromagnetic wave field in the reverberation chamber is Rayleigh distributed in time (on the time axis of the stirring speed) and space (on the length axis of the wavelength), simulating a rich isotropic multipath fading environment. Since the electromagnetic wave radiation is sampled in random directions, the isotropic property can be calculated, which corresponds to the integral approximation on the radiation sphere. When there are a large enough number of independent sampling numbers, it can be proved that the object under test will feel the isotropic incident conditions in all directions, so the performance of the antenna or mobile terminal in all directions can be measured. This feature is used for antenna efficiency testing, mobile terminal total radiated power (TRP), total isotropic sensitivity (TIS) and MIMO total average throughput (TPuT) and other items.

 

RTS65 darkroom OTA test applications:

(1) Passive antenna: antenna efficiency, gain, isolation and other test items;

(2) Short-range communication: WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n), Bluetoothà TRP and TIS;

(3) 2G/3G: GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, TDSCDMAà TRP and TIS;

(4) 4G: FDD-LTE, TDD-LTEà TRP, TIS and 2×2 MIMO, 4×4 MIMO throughput;

(5) 5G: NSA, SAà TRP, TIS and 2×2 MIMO, 4×4 MIMO throughput;

 

Future OTA test expansions for the RTS65 chamber:

Based on the existing RTS65 chamber system, it can be updated through convenient and cost-effective software and hardware upgrades on site to support future 5G millimeter wave OTA test applications, and can achieve efficiency and directional pattern tests of passive antennas in millimeter wave bands, TRP, TIS, EIRP, EIS, carrier aggregation, throughput and other high-end tests of active terminals!
